Memorial to Those Lost at Sea

Each year a memorial service is held at the Age of Sail Centre to remember those lost at sea. Stories of the lives lost at sea, the ringing of the ship's bell for each remembered soul and the laying of flowers by the families and members of the community, bring to a close each year's service. A feeling of fellowship prevails as we gather for refreshments. On this special day museum admission fees are waived.
